The Flyers are back in action Sunday in Calgary, and Rick Tocchet's team badly needs a win after dropping its second straight Thursday night.

That 3-2 loss at the Rangers stung because the Flyers got what they wanted from some unexpected places. Noel Acciari scored, and Simon Benoit scored too, but the Rangers got the last two goals of the night.

Joseph Woll did his part, making 25 saves on 28 shots. Here's Joseph Woll's night in New York in full, and it still ended with Philadelphia on the wrong side of the scoreboard.

The bigger problem is where that leaves the Flyers. They're 4-10-4 with 12 points, 30th in the NHL out of 32 teams.

The goal count tells the same story. Philadelphia has scored 39 and allowed 61, a minus-22 goal differential that is hard to explain away with bad bounces.

The Flyers' own account confirmed the next stop, and the schedule leaves very little room to feel sorry for themselves.

The road record is the real problem in Calgary

Philadelphia is 1-6-1 away from home. At home, the Flyers are 3-4-3, which isn't good either, but it's a different conversation.

The trip that started in New York continues Sunday, and the Flyers can't keep treating road games as bonus rounds.

Calgary isn't exactly a juggernaut. The Flames are 7-8-1, 24th in the NHL, and they host the Ducks tonight before the Flyers arrive. Calgary lost its last game 2-1 in overtime at Seattle.

Still, the Flyers are the team sitting 8th in the Metropolitan Division, and a team in that spot doesn't get to pick its spots.

The Flyers haven't announced a lineup or a goalie for Sunday, so there's nothing to say yet about who plays. What's clear is that Benoit's first goal as a Flyer and Acciari's goal can't be the only highlights again.

A win in Calgary would stop the two-game skid. Another loss makes it three straight, and the road mark gets uglier with each game.

Quick hits

ANAHEIM DUCKSLeo Carlsson and Jackson Lacombe are feeding a six-game scoring run, and the Ducks visit the Flames tonight. That's the same Calgary team the Flyers see Sunday, so Philadelphia gets a free preview.
